Adam
With Granddaughter Robynn off to Holland to visit a school friend and daughter#3 and husband away to stay with friends in Peebles for 4 nights, peace has descended on the castle much to his Lordship's delight.
It's not as though he has a thing about visitors per se, it's just that he is a man of routine and orderliness and does not do well in crowds and upheaval, so you can understand his problem when four people come to stay with us.
Added to that is the fact that he has packed up all his books and toy soldiers ( yes, indeed, what more is there to say on that score?) and is sitting in his study which has literally turned into a box room.
I am to blame for that, he says, because I nagged him to start clearing out excess belongings. Instead he put it all into boxes - I didn't notice much being discarded.
Anyhow, he has taken the fact that Edinburgh granddaughter is staying the night very well because, there is only one of her, she is going to be royally entertained by her Cairo uncle and he will no doubt be in bed before she is.
With the miserable weather on offer today, His Lordship and I succumbed to the local land of flowers and OAP's and had ourselves an equal share of two naughty cakes.
Then it was back to changing bedlinen and joy of joys, sitting down to blip and read the papers.
Tomorrow's another day as they say.
The blip is Adam my son-in-law who plays the guitar and teaches music and related studies in a school in Oman.
