Ardgowan Tower

Out and about at work today. I'm leading a walk next week, so i had to recci the route. It was a very wet morning, but we set off from Lunderston Bay regardless. Taking the coastal path south we headed for the Ardgowan Estate. Its a great walk, even in the rain, along the clyde coast a bit and then through acres of woodland.

Located in the 400 acre grounds of Ardgowan House, a late 18th century classical mansion, is Ardgowan Tower ( sometimes Inverkip Castle), which dates from the 15th century.
