In the land of the Summerhus - the thatch roof is king. If Hans Christian Anderson had a holiday home it woiuld look like this.

Here in Lønstrup there are loads of holiday homes, in fact it's the nearest things I've seen to Hobbiton. Wee wooden houses, big sheds actually, all snugged up into the sandunes.

Why dosn't it look ugly? - well there's no power cables or telephone lines. The Planners have make sure that everything has to be just right. Very Scandanavain. Very Danish.

Although I do get the feeling that all these holiday home would be festooned with Folk Art Kitch given half a chance but what would the neighbours think.....and you must fly a Danish flag pennant when your in residence. I saw one family who broke the code and flew a Buddhist silk flag.
