Up close and personal...

Last night, Jack was talking about taking his magnifying glass outside to check out the bugs, flowers and plants. I told him that it was getting too late, but that we could go out today and see what we could find.

Jack has about 4 magnifying glasses...he LOVES to check things out. He decided on using the 'bumble bee' shaped one this time. We didn't find much for bugs (although we did find a few bees...I didn't think they would be a good thing to check out up close!). We found some ants, which Jack checked out then moved along to the plants and flowers. He checked out the clover in the grass and the roses on his rose bushes, but what he seemed to like the most were the HUGE hydrangea bushes over by our stone wall. He studied them for a while!

We looked for some more bugs, then decided that we've had enough of being outside in the heat and humidity. Off to the library we go.....
