Siem Sailor
Is a so called straight supplier or Platform Supply Vessel (PSV). It means that this ship is designed and built for supplywork for platforms only. She can not perform any anchor handling or towing. You'll recognize these vessel by the stern, where an anchor handler has an open stern to let pass chains and cables, a PSV has a closed stern to protect her deckcrew against the elements while working on deck. When the oil exploration started in the late sixties, early seventies, supply work was mainly done by fishing vessels transporting boxes of eggs and tomatoes on a weekly basis. Nowadays vessels like the enormous Siem Sailor are responsible for this. Plenty of deckspace to supply multiple platforms in one run.
