Cloisters
Photographing architecture is a challenge to me.
I think it's probably because I find it hard to get beyond the sense I'm documenting it, rather than expressing a feeling.
Tonight we've been in the perishing cold on the Port Hills, with nothing between Antarctica and us except a few small islands and a large body of water. Believe me when I say it was perishing. The wind as they say cut like a knife.
We descended to the city and spent time around the Art Gallery and Arts Centre. The Arts Centre is the old university. I love the feel, look and sense of history combined with the vibrancy of the present. For me it is a beautiful place with heart and soul.
Hopefully I captured that here. We had the opportunity to photograph with a long exposure while our tutor fired bursts of flash into the cloisters.
Despite an immense amount of clothing (the details of which I won't bore you with tonight ;-) I've returned home chilled to the bone. Now I'm torn between a hot shower or warm bed with electric blanket, down duvet and hotty.
Bed wins.
I'm beautiful big
