Hollyhocks

These flowers always make me smile because one of the first children's TV shows I ever watched was called Uncle Chichimus and Holly Hock. This was on black and white TV, as colour had not been invented yet. Yes!!!!! I am that old!

These hollyhocks grow near my place of work, and I can see them from my window. I look forward to their appearance every year and they never disappoint me. I tried growing my own a few years ago, but they got very tall and the wind blew them over. I'll try again and plant them in a more protected spot this time.

Our summer has finally come and the weather has been hot for 2 days in a row. My vegetable garden is responding appropriately. Finally!
