Tanabata Cookies

It being July 7th, M wanted to do something special for Tanabata (See here for explanation), the Japanese Star Festival, when her friend came over to play after school today.

The result, these star and heart sugar cookies, decorated by two seven year-olds who have not yet discovered the concept of "less is more", but had a great time anyway.

On this day for wishing on stars, I reiterate my wish that people everywhere communicate better, see the other point of view, and work toward solving problems without lining each other up and deciding the winner based on who manages to kill the most of the other team.

Call me naive, but I can dream...
