That's not the Edinburgh I know

I've been meaning to use this as a blip for weeks and today I finally got the chance to. There's been a film crew set up on Melville St (around the corner from what I can now call my old work!) for such a long time now, I can't even remember when I first saw them. I was very surprised to see them still there today. As you can see they're trying to go for a particular vibe as all the windows have been kitted out with fake stain glass and there's vegetation where there was no vegetation before. Curious.

It also makes me wish I'd known about Simon Pegg shooting in Edinburgh a few months back; I would have made the effort to go find them and check it out! That was for the Burke and Hare movie he's doing. I did nearly get a glimpse of Ewan McGregor last summer in Glasgow as I stumbled across "The Last Word" set as well, quite unexpectedly. I missed seeing him but I did see Vespa from two James Bonds ago.

What can I say, I like watching movies where I recognise the streets!
