Fourth of July

Our 4th was spent with the Anselmos on the grassy area at the Verizon building in Lodi. We got there early enough to get a great spot, enjoyed snacks and visited while the kids played together until the fireworks began. After the fireworks show, Jack sighed and said "Is that the end to the birthday party for our country? When does it have another birthday?" Well, that wasn't the end--we returned to our house and the kids played for a few minutes with some sparklers and we watched Emily twirl her fire baton before calling it a night and an "end to our country's birthday party."
