Life's a Journey

By journey

I think this is what the forefathers had in mind..

We had this discussion while waiting for the fireworks to begin - I'm sure the founding fathers were just hoping that we'd shoot off fireworks in their honor! :) This was my first real use of manual settings, I found that the shutter priority worked best. I took about 300 pictures during the 30 minute display over the lake. It was difficult to get the tripod in the right position and keep it still, and hold the button for just the right amount of time to get the correct exposure. The smoke was also a real challenge, as the air was thick and many pictures were obscured. I had a couple clear shots of bursts that I liked, but I really liked K's back and the reflection on the pond in this one.
