Zig Zagging
I was torn on which photo to post today. I took only two photos all day and couldn't decide between them. This one only won because the other one was blurry and they looked rubbish side by side.
So, first the bad. This jerk felt it was appropriate to park on the zig zags. For those not familiar with them, they mark the area to either side of a pedestrian crossing and you are not allowed to park on them. It's for visibility: can you see the little kid waiting under the light on the left for his chance to run across to the sweetie shop on the other side? No? Well it's the same for any driver going down here. And the kid can't see you in your car. And can't hear your car because of the SB10 EZV jerk having left his engine running.
Actually there wasn't a kid there but there could have been and the guy was such a jerk (he'd gone for a browse in the golf store on the right after the crossing while his wife was in the sweetie shop) that he deserves to be shamed by coming across this one day. So, Mr SB10 EZV, when someone politely points out that you should move your car because the police are often up and down this road, the appropriate response is to move, not mutter something with a lot of 'f's in and stalk off for some nice shopping.
Anyway, on a more positive note, Mr B and I went to the movies and for a meal. We saw the new(ish) Woody Allen movie - Whatever Works - which was more fun than we expected, but pretty badly acted apart from the leads. Funniest line (I thought) was about secular humanists (you don't hear much about them - us?? - in movies).
The other shot I took was of my pint of 'Tyneside Blonde' in the cinema bar - which we decided was the Thinking Man's blonde (or the drinking man's blonde). Anyway, a classy pint, and one that this Tyneside blonde was very happy with.
After the pint, movie and meal, we went for a zig-zagging wander around Edinburgh managing to tour the red light zone (which has expanded massively since Mr B used to get his lunchtime bag of chips down there when he was at school) and went for a wander around the Meadows looking at the old hospital development.
Lovely evening.
