Three Green Backs...

I just managed to hit very high on the TFP price to usefulness scale.

Two one point five metre lengths of climbing rope at one pound per metre. Three of your British Pounds Sterling, thank you very much.

And their purpose...

Whenst it is dry, I usually take the kids down to the park on their respective vehicles. Ewan on his trike and Bethany on her bike. The trike is easy as it has the handle at the back to push it and the bike is fine with a little length of rope attached to the front. Both together can lead to a few complications. Along the flat is fine but up and down hills present a couple of challenges.

Enter the rope. Downhill, tie the front of the trike to the back of the bike and I can limit Bethany's speed from the comfort of the trike. Uphill, tie the rope between the back of the trike and the front of the bike and again I can simutaneously drag and push both from the same action. A couple of handy scouting rope knots for easy tying and removal and it's a less troublesome saunter for our daily constitutional.

Any scouts or sailors out there? What the name of this beautifully simple knot? In my opinion, the most famous of all knots.
