Happiness
This is a dreadful picture I know. Low light, distance, stained glass windows with light streaming through; a whole set of photographic issues.
But anyway - this was from last night's lecture on Happiness by Benjamin Zephaniah at the University. What a cool guy he was. The organiser played a clip from his speech last year when he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in which he said "My mum is in the audience. Mum, I want to say to you, you are a nurse but now I am a doctor" which was quite funny.
When he's reciting his poetry he comes alive, massive long dreads flying, face animated, body in motion. And he recites nearly all of them from memory, no mean feat because some of them are pretty long.
On the subject of happiness he said "I don't think anyone can be happy when their country is at war." Sounds like wise words to me.
