a town called E.

Monday, monday ...

I did not have to go to work today, which is always an excellent start of the week. It's not that I hate my job, it's just that I have so much more fun when I'm not there.

Today's highlights:
1. the harvest of the first ever homegrown (by me) zucchini/courgette. I felt very triumphant which is totally unwarranted because apart from planting it, I haven't done much. They must be the easiest veggie to grow!

2. grazing geese at the fish hatchery. It was very quiet, and they are loud, messy eaters.

Geese: "Om NOM nom nom"
Me: "Hello!"
Geese: "Om nom NOM nom"
Me: "Really? Nobody even cares that I'm standing here? I could be stealing your babies! I could be a goose hunter!"
Geese: "Om nom nom nom"

After about ten minutes, and without even a sideways glance at me, mom G. slid into the water, the little* ones followed suit. Dad G. who had been on the (pretend, obviously) lookout was last in line.

*it's all relative. To me, they look the same size as she does, but I guess to her they're still her little goslings. Kinda like how my mom still thinks I'm her (40something year old) baby :)
