Summer Scent
I got home and opend the windows and there it was: My summer scent!
The wind sent this intense fragrance from the huge linden-tree (lime-tree) across the street into my rooms.
The tree is just far enough away for the scent not to be annoying.
Reminds me of the German poem by Wilhelm Müller, 1823:
Am Brunnen vor dem Tore,
Da steht ein Lindenbaum:
Ich träumt in seinem Schatten
So manchen süßen Traum.
My bad translation:
At the well by the gate
Stands a linden-tree
In its shade
I dreamt many sweet dreams.
