The Summer of Flowers
Everything is blooming so fully this year.
I have never seen the Jasmine at my kitchen window this thick before. It is laden with sweet headily scented flowers. There always seem to be a bumble bee working away in it.
It must come out smelling wonderful. A waft of 'Joy'. (Do they still make that scent?)
All the foliage acts as a wonderful sun screen, or canopy, keeping the room cool. You get an almost under water feel from it at certain times of the day.
The plant lives in a small Versailles box, but has grown to fill the courtyard and some of my next door neighbours garden too. It has taken 8 years. But it really delivers, this year being the most outstanding.
