A Walk Through Deb's Life

Red, White, & Blue

...sort of.

My Taxman and I rode the bike (his) to our favorite secret spot on the Fox River in Millbrook, IL. We saw a few canoes, a few families floating on inflatable rafts, a snake, and a duck. The duck was celebrating our nation's Independence Day with its nearly perfect color combination. Not sure what type of duck this is, he was huge...the size of a small goose for sure.

It was hot today, in fact, it is still 80 degrees Fahrenheit now, at 9:30 p.m. I can hear the sounds of fireworks in the distance. It was a quiet day. Perfect really. We didn't do our annual visit to the Naperville Ribfest, but it was a good day anyway. We had salad for dinner instead of ribs. That salad was filled with all kinds of good things though: Beets, lettuce, and kohlrabi from the farmers market, avocado, zucchini, carrots, and leftover steak from last night. It was almost as good as ribs covered in sauce from Ribfest.
