Cormorant nesting trees

This time of year, cormorants take over the trees on the islands at the Lake Merritt Nature Center. Many of the trees have been stripped bare by the cormornats, but they find enough material elsewhere to keep building their nests here. Egrets used to nest on the islands as well, but there's not so many egret nests anymore.
