The generally murkier lighting, faster-arriving and spicier food and greater height of the table at the restaurant (twenty metres directly behind me at the time this was taken) later in the evening meant that I managed to avoid taking any pictures of people eating. That's twice we've met up with Nicky's school-based friend-group now where I haven't been noticeably excessively photographic at them. Next time they'll be off-guard. I'm sure no-one noticed when I did take a few pictures when we got back to Nicky's parents' house but they might have still been distracted from the amusement of most of the bottles in the booze cabinet turning out to be empty and the sad tinkle which followed shortly after Nicky's decision to use the proper fancy wine glasses rather than the Ikea tumblers. At least Nicky's mum's nice new Vax works a lot better than her old vacuum cleaner and managed to get all the spiky bits out of the carpet.
Ayr and Prestwick have little else to report - didn't get out for much of a wander except to collect the car from the car park of a nearby pub in the morning and I'd remembered to buy the paper in Edinburgh before we left so that there wouldn't be the usual hassle of attempting to find a shop with one still in stock in Ayr in the afternoon.
