Village party

The local village party called Melliläpäivät is organized every year. It's a great event for a little village nearly in the middle of nowhere. So today was the day of the party and nicely the weather was very hot and the sun was shining bright from the nearly cloudless sky.

There were lots of different market booths, a dance floor and a bounce castle for children in the square area and of course a stage for art so there were lots of different performers and I was one of them once again. Lots of music was performed; singing, playing instruments and a local choir battle. Some old local chaps talked about the old times and then there were poems by me.

I must say that I fumbled little with my special number which was a very traditional Finnish poem called Nocturne by Eino Leino. Actually, I think that nobody recognized my tangling in the second verse but then there was the local poem master. However, I think my poems went well even I got to the stage just at 3 p.m. 'cause the tedious schlager singer wanted to perform once again.

Today was a great day even my poor pale skin burned in the sun. Nearly everyone seemed to be arrived in the village party 'cause I met there my grandma, my greant-aunt, the boy from another block, the ex-neighbours, my dear friends, the doctor, the shopkeeper, the banker, the politicians and my old history teacher. What a day and in the evening there was dance where I went too.
