If indeed your family is a bunch of shell suit wearing neds who enjoy outdated arcade games and losing a forture in old fruit machines, then yes, I suppose it is. Otherwise it's a place best avoided, as is Portobello in general normally. It's really not stood the test of time like some of the other little places along the Forth estuary. From the Costa del Sol of the Lothians 50 years ago it's largely stood still and decayed.

NOT my favourite part of Edinburgh!
