Colonisation
Sorry for a pretty lazy blip but this is the wood by the side of our lane. Before the development peope used to use the wood for dumping garden waste but when the developers moved in they cleared out a lot of brushwood and small trees and fenced the area off - not sure why but probably something the planners demanded. The foxgloves have come at some time from our garden and they have thrived because the fencing means they haven't been disturbed. They also haven't been eaten by the deer who got frightened off when the work began although I did see one about a month ago. Our own garden has also flourished much better since then.
