Trust in the Low Tech...

One of the things I don't like about new cars is that everything seems to be electrically controlled. We had one outstanding issue with the new TFP mobile in that there is a button on the front console to lock the back windows. We managed to put the lock on and could not for the life of us work out how to disengage it and the manual only gave it a brief description.

Finally worked it out this morning. After holding it, double pressing it, quick pressing it, pressing whilst pressing the window controls, ignition on and off. Turned out it was actually a simple mechanical toggle button. Push it once and it stays in, push it again and it stays up.

Although the electronics behind it are probably a bit more complicated, it's nice to find it was a mechanical rather than an electronic solution we were missing.

I've passed the sign for Auchinbaird Windmill a couple of times but seeing as we were up visiting TFPMum at the cat home, I thought we'd pop by and see it up close.

It was originally built in the early 18th Century to drive a water pump to drain a nearby coalpit. When the pit closed it was converted into a doocot (scots for dovecote, a structure to house pigeons).
