Getting on with it...

Spent some time today shaping the silver sheet for the end of my sgian dubh. The band you see now needs to be silver soldered to form a closed shape. Then I will add cap of silver to the top - this is also soldered. The fact that the soldering is done in 2 operations means that I have to use a solder with a high melting point first, then a lower melting point solder for the cap. This is so that the first joint does not open up when it is reheated for the second part to be soldered. I have sent for the tools and materials to do this, and it should be completed by the weekend.

We started back to ballroom dancing classes tonight - Slow Foxtrot. We managed it ok, but the class was all new people, and one of the teachers wont be joining us until after Christmas. Not as good as before, but we will probably keep at it.

Guitar class tomorrow night - might get chucked out for lack of experience / skill as I don't know how good I need to be for it.
