The Jen Jones Welsh Quilt Centre.

Just to continue from my first "blipfoto" yesterday when Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall visited Lampeter. While out shopping this morning I took a picture of the building that they visited and thought you may be intersted in its history. J.B. Harford of the Falcondale, Lampeter and Blaise Castle, Bristol commissioned a new Town Hall which was more suitable for the Court of Quarter Sessions and County Assizes. R.J. Withers was the designer and the building was built in 1871/72. He was proud enough of his design to exhibit it at the Royal Academy 1882 exhibition.
When the Courts closed in Lampeter the future of the building looked quite bleak until Jen Jones showed an interest and fortunately we now have the Welsh Quilt Centre housed there which is a great asset to Lampeter and to Wales.
