Phalaenopsis
This is an orchid that my wife managed to save from her office. It didn't seem to like the office environment, and seemed to thrive much better in a loving home environment safe from the stresses of 9 to 5 jobs.
It's slowly starting to wilt now, so I made a point of grabbing this before it was too late. Standard fare: taken against a white(ish) wall, with a flash bounced of the ceiling to minimise shadows and blow out the exposure. Lens wide open at f1.4 mostly to hide any texture in the background wall.
Loving the upgrade to Aperture 3; I can now proudly say "slight adjustment made to curves in Aperture". Yes Apple fans, Aperture has curves! (ooh er)
