The Big Old Oak

We finally had some sunshine this afternoon, after a morning of nasty rain showers and wind.

This old Oak stands at the edge of our garden casting summer shade over part of the lawn, looking impressively established and grand. As Oak Trees go I think he's (is it it a she? Are trees asexual?) a pretty good specimen.

I'd quite like to build a tree house in her for the girls, but that'll have to be a project for later next year when all the other house extensions and updates are complete.
