Behind The Mask - 1

Presented by the Scottish Mask and Puppet Centre.

This is the mask of a toothless (almost) old woman Lupetta, the she-wolf. A prototype of the wrinkly, cross-eyed old woman or the toothless witch covered with warts similar to a she-wolf. She has an obsessive nature. Her appearance might give the impression of being servile or obedient, but instead she is predatory, impatient and evil.

Recreated in Celastic (resin cloth soaked in acetone).

They don't say anything about it but I'm fairly sure they have modelled it on an old Primary School teacher of mine although she wasn't quite this pretty!
