New school shoes

My daughter's been complaining for a few days that her shoes have been hurting her. She even went to the school nurse to ask for plasters to put on her blisters (she probably even told her that her shoes were too small and mum was not going to buy her a new pair until September!).
After dinner, we went into town (late night shopping on a Thursday) to buy a new pair of school shoes with only three weeks left in the term.
I asked the nice sales assistant if she minded if I took a picture and she replied with a smile "not at all". Before I'd even got my camera out of my bag, her colleague marched over and ordered me not to take any pictures. She said that the store's policy is that no one is allowed to take any pictures inside the store.
I put on my best puppy dog look face and mumbled something about my photo project. The nice sales assistant said that she would ask the manager. She came back saying that the manager says it's ok. The policy is that pictures cannot be taken of the stock but taking pictures of one's children is absolutely fine. I smirked at the other sales assistant.
My daughter took forever to choose a pair of shoes but i got the blame when the clock struck eight and it was too late to go to paperchase to look for a new rucksack.
She sulked all the way home.

My son came third in the castle building project at school.
