International Expo
The main reason why we came to China, besides seeing family, was to go to the international expo. How lucky that it is located only 10 minutes away from my grandma's apartment.
Each country has a pavilion and there were pavilions of countries I've never even heard of. The work put into them is amazing, and at night, the entire place lights up. The unfortunate side of the visit was that it was over 90 degrees out, humid, and there was about 500,000 people there. That resulted in sticky bodies and three and a half hour lines to get into just one country's pavilion.
My second cousin and I were lucky enough to get into one section of Nepal because the line was moving pretty fast. That's the only country we actually got in. The rest we just took pictures of the outsides.
We got tickets to ride in a boat down the Huangpu River at night, which separates both sides of the expo. Sitting in the VIP section on the top of the boat, we got the best view to take pictures. My second cousin just got a Nikon D90 so I was teaching her how to use it. We were both snapping pictures of the gorgeous lights of the expo and this is of the bridge that we passed under. I made sure I got it when the lights turned rainbow!
