Windows 7 hours and still loading.
This isn't a photo of my copy of windows 7. This is The Boy's, his is green as it's home edition. Mine was downloaded with a backup disk being sent to follow. I set off at 7am this morning installing Windows 7. An hour or two later and it was done. This should have been fine only it hadn't done a clean install as promised and all the junk that I wanted wiped was still on the drive. As I have the upgrade version I was left with no choice but to format C:\ then reinstall Vista before upgrading to 7.
This should have been simple.
Apparently my copy of Vista doesn't want to install. It gets past the completing installation stage but then I get several hours of a little white arrow on a black background before the hard drive goes quiet. I'm giving it one more attempt over night and if that fails I'll then be on the scavenge for a copy of Vista or XP to install so I can then install my 7 upgrade.
Really annoying, it means I'll have to turf the Boy off the PC on Friday to get my assignment submitted, he won't have the laptop for doing the work rotas or for his overnight shifts. I wonder if I can track down and borrow a copy of windows before Friday?
