McKee Springs
Okay! I'm back! I've emerged from a week in Utah's backcountry. I have much to back-blip. Here's my most recent day....
This is a petroglyph site in Dinosaur National Monument. I had to drive 20 miles down a series of paved and unpaved roads to get to it. It's in a little visited section of the park (actually, the park itself is little visited--only 300,000 visitors a year, and I hardly saw anyone outside the campground) and it was absolutely stunning.
Rock art is incredible. After my first day of hunting for some out-of-way sites, I am officially obsessed. This particular panel, called McKee Springs, is thousands of years old, and incredibly well-preserved. I felt so privileged to see it; I had a hard time leaving the place.
Update: I've put up back-blips for June 18th and 24th-28th.
