Gold-ringed Dragonfly
We were out doing another field vole survey today, down at Outerwards, in the Brisbane glen. It was a little cooler today, which is why i was able to catch a shot of this sluggish Gold-ringed Dragonfly (Cordulegaster boltonii). On a warm sunny day, they can be very fast and flighty, and are difficult to photograph with my old trusty compact.
