Empty Nest

Neave went off on school camp today to an outdoor activity centre in north Wales. Tonight she will be sleeping in a bunk house and tomorrow she will be cliff walking and abseiling.

This is the first time she has gone on camp without one of her parents there and the longest that I will be out of contact with her. She was pleased to be going and although I will miss her I think it will be a wonderful experience for her. Her going off and doing stuff without me is something which will happen more and more now (as it should be.)

So this week I can go out without having to make plans and be back at a certain time which feels rather strange.

She's coming back on Saturday evening.
