Beatle in the Park

In soaring temperatures, on parched Earth of Hyde Park, we tucked into packed lunch and wine decanted into an Evian bottle. The sun beat down and shone from aviator glasses. Skin turned red and the atmosphere was upbeat and good natured. First Elvis Costello, then Crowded House, then Crosby Stills and Nash, then the main man. It was a storming set, heavy with Beatles numbers near the end. Paul McCartney played with bags of energy, clearly reveling in the moment. As the light dipped and the moon shone out, the tempo upped until Sgt Pepper closed the show at nearly 11pm. He's an example to pensioners everywhere!
