Champagne society

This weekend we went to London to visit our friends who are getting married in August. They very kindly invited a few of us round to blind taste champagnes and English sparkling wines to choose what will be served at the wedding.

The first round, we thought we were all being very clever and selective; trying to guess not only what they were, but also how much they cost. All seemed to be going swimmingly. Then we did a second blind round, and it was clear that all discerning powers had been destroyed, and in fact, had probably never existed, mainly by being pissed.

It was great fun though.
