I was meant to be back in the UK last month, but the return of the ash cloud resulted in a deferral to a later training course, starting tomorrow. Ross and Sam were booked on a 4pm flight back to Moscow and me on the evening BA flight to Heathrow a couple of hours later. Sam had read about a British fish and chip shop in Warsaw and wanted to try it, so we did that for brunch, which was the cherry on the cake for her impression of Warsaw, being worlds apart from how things are in Moscow. We didn't do very much in the morning, but I wasn't feeling too hideous after our all-day-er yesterday, which was a bonus. Having said that, I would have preferred not to have had to travel, and traipsed on a taxi-plane-train-tube-train-walk journey from Warsaw to Croydon - my home for the next 10 nights. I arrived at the hotel about 9.30ish, having left my flat six and a half hours earlier and went for a cup of tea with Jo, a friend from my Beijing days, who was also there for a different training course. I went to bed settling my alarm for a good 8-hours later.
