Elephant Parade London 2010

The elephants are no longer on the streets and have moved to either Westfields Shopping Centre (the fragile indoor ones) or the Royal Chelsea Hospital where they will be auctioned off on the 3rd July - today I visited both to catch a final glimpse. This is elephant number 055 Cubelephant who was originally at More London. It was a difficult choice today as I took around 300 photos.

Today I was told by a woman when I tutted at a child being destructive :- "its all about the children" I replied "actually its not, its all about saving elephants from abuse & extinction". Also saw brats at Westfield almost pulling that gorgeous ornate rug off of Haven's Haathi only to be told "children will be children" when I commented to the mother that it was delicate and easily damaged

Much as I've enjoying wandering around London discovering new places becoming reacquainted with much forgotten parts, nothing beats seeing a real elephant in the wild and I would ask everybody to please go onto the Elephant Parade website and sign the petition for this very worthwhile charity and hats off to Mark Shand because if it wasn't for him falling in love with Tara (an elephant) then there wouldn't be a charity to support.

Added - horrigans has been kind enough to add the link for me, please sign the petition :)
