The sky is getting blacker every moment, the humidity is tiring - but still it doesn't rain. And it hasn't rained for so long it is hard to remember when that was.

The hose that has been stretched down the garden since last Tuesday evening I have just tidied away (as a hint to the rain-gods that the time is now!)

It is part of our regular weather conversation, isn't it? "The garden could do with it!" Well, yes it could.

But just in case, the watering can stands ready for action!
