Happy 1st Birthday Paddington!!

26 June 2009: I was in Eastgate shopping mall when my phone rang... it was Sean (my husband) calling. Friends of ours had just rescued a tiny little puppy running along the N14 highway in rush hour traffic. They didn't have space for a dog and they knew our cat had been put down 3 weeks earlier and we were devastated. They asked whether we would be interested in giving the little rescue dog a home. He couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 weeks old at the time. The rest, as they say, is history...

It's now a year later and Paddington has matured into the most beautiful dog, with a personality to match! He has become an integral part of our lives and we love him to bits. We decided to get him a brother (Baloo), who he has welcomed into his life with open arms/paws. Baloo is now 20 weeks old and the two of them really have become best friends.

While Baloo is a purebred Australian Shepherd, Paddington's background is a wild guess at best... But one thing I do know, is that whoever dumped him on the side of the road a year ago, is missing out on one great dog!
