QE2

The QE2 arrived today as part of the official opening of Liverpool's £19m cruise liner terminal, this also coincides with her 40th Birthday. We went over to Seacombe Ferry to see her berthed and to watch a firework display witch was set off from one of the boats on the River Mersey. It was a clear dry night and it was a great show,lots of people turned out to watch. At the end of the display she sounded her fog horn and everyone cheered. This is the first and last time that I will probably get to see her.

She is scheduled to berth permanently at a pier at the Palm Jumeirah development in Dubai in 2009.

The plan is to turn the 963ft (294m) long, 105ft (32m) wide liner into a floating hotel.
