After waiting for well over a week for the new carpet to arrive, Lyra decided she'd better make sure that the fitting was up to scratch. After a good crawl around to check the quality of the carpet she set to bossing around Karl and Kevin, our comedy duo of floor fitters.

Here she is demonstrating the correct use of the carpet stretcher. You have to get in low and get all your weight behind it apparently.

Lyra was very surprised to discover Kevin and Karl had never mastered walking; preferring instead to crawl around the floor all morning. She tried to show them how to pull themselves to standing but they just didn't get it. She assumed that maybe boys are slower learners - or perhaps they were just enjoying the feel of the soft new carpet beneath their hands and knees?
