Syrphus vitripennis (Hover Fly)

As I've said in another blip, hover flies are quite harmless and most of them don't have an English name. They mimic wasps as a form of protection but they don't behave like wasps. They are, in fact, very useful insects both to the gardener and farmer because they feed on aphids. Don't be frightened of them, they won't sting!
