Sailing!

As if the river trip weren't enough to make this a very memorable weekend . . .

My first ever trip on a sailboat followed - the very next day! Yet another beautiful day in Virginia!

We took Travis' sailboat out on Claytor Lake in SW Virginia today and sailed around for hours and hours. It wasn't as exciting (in the heart-pumping way) as the rafting, but it was still absolutely lovely.

I actually had a bit of a difficult time getting to sleep the night before, my mind alit from the river trip and (unfortunately) thinking about all the work I had to get done - and soon. That said, I think I really needed this day on the lake. It was sooooo nice just to sit and watch the sky and the lake and the wind. Yes, just to sit for a while doing absolutely nothing. Ahhhh . . .

I do believe this was my first vacation of 2010. I hadn't quite expected it this weekend with all the work I have to get done, but boy am I happy that it happened!
