Solstice surprise

I made a solstice visit to the nature area of Lake Merritt and was delighted to find that five whtie pelicans are now staying there. This is especially good news for our resident white pelican, who can't fly and seemed destined to a lonely summer. I don't know how long they're here for, but they're fun to watch.
