Gran Paradiso

Drove from Aosta to Valnontey (1666 m) where I got just when it started to get light at 5 a.m. and headed to the mountains of Parco Nazionale del Gran Paradiso. I spent there the whole day and was back to my car at about 6 p.m. covering more than 20 km of distance and 1100 m of ascent. Gran Paradiso (4061 m) is one of the peaks on the right side. This picture was taken in about 2600 meters. At the bottom is the Valnontey valley.
