Robbie's Roots

Ox-eye Daisy

The rather larger cousin of delicate daisy found in your lawn. The flowers are about 5cms across. Sometimes called the 'dog daisy', or 'Marguerite' after the French princess who adopted it as her official emblem. Ox-eye daisies were once used as a remedy for chest problems.

I went for a walk this evening down to Cardington Brook, the banks were extremely overgrown including swathes of Ox-eye Daisies, a wonderful sight.
