Reasons to be Cheerful

Out of Bounds

Usually, the gate at the end of Lambley viaduct is locked and cyclists on the South Tyne Trail have to dismount and negotiate some tricky steps and narrow footpath before rejoining the trail beyond Lambley Station.
Our school's sponsored cycle ride took place this morning and the owners of Lambley Station House (private ground) unlocked the gate and let us pass through their garden, which was a relief for many of us parents struggling with tired youngsters on bikes with stabilizers.
One mum that I spoke to related how she had removed the stabilizers from her daughters bike in January, in preparation for today. Her daughter was on a scooter, so I assume it had not gone to plan.
In turn I had to tell her about a very ambitious man (my husband) who had removed the stabilizers an hour before the event. Needless to say they had to go back on. (I am rolling my eyes as I write).

PS - If this was my house, that waiting room would be a tearoom/gallery. Well, I can dream.
