The Lazy Day That Wasn't
"The great teachings unanimously emphasize that all the peace, wisdom, and joy in the universe are already within us; we don't have to gain, develop, or attain them. We're like a child standing in a beautiful park with his eyes shut tight. We don't need to imagine trees, flowers, deer, birds, and sky; we merely need to open our eyes and realize what is already here, who we really are -- as soon as we quit pretending we're small or unholy."

Went out last night for a volleyball party and had a great time. We played around and drank and had a general good time - I'm sore today from it but am really glad I went. Plus, I was good to myself today and didn't set an alarm clock - trying to let my body catch up on the sleep it needed. I think it worked because I slept until 1:30PM and I'm getting tired already. So that was good too. :)
I'm enrolled in a clinical trial at the moment, which means I'm not supposed to do anything that will cause me to sweat a lot. Seeing how walking to work caused me to sweat, that kind of ruled out doing anything outside today. No sunbathing for me this weekend, and it'd be a good one for it. :(
So, I went into work after I got up and moving and have been here all day. Hence the photo of the sky around sunset through my window (again). While you might think working on a Saturday would make me cranky it actually does just the opposite. I got a lot of organizing done (which was WAY overdue) as well as the other experimental tasks I had on the agenda.
So, in the long run, working today made my life easier plus it gave me a little smiley face on the inside. Oh, and I got to listen to a reply of the Australia World Cup game on ESPN3 (I could have watched it as well but I was working on stuff at the same time, so didn't for the most part). A very good day indeed.
